The Joy of the Supper Club: A Journey of Connection and Discovery

March 29, 20264 min read

The Joy of the Supper Club: A Journey of Connection and Discovery: What began as a simple idea — a handful of intimate gatherings around our dining table — has grown into a deeply meaningful community rooted in connection, creativity and holistic wellbeing. Our bi-monthly women’s supper club has become a sanctuary for those seeking slow living, shared learning and a sense of belonging.

Each month, we open our home to women who gather shoulder‑to‑shoulder, often squeezed happily onto the bench (always the favourite spot). Before we even sit, we huddle in the kitchen with cups of tea, where new faces meet old friends and the room fills with that familiar hum of gentle introductions. It’s community in its purest form.

Finding Presence at the Table

Once the excitement of arrival softens, we settle around the table and begin with a few mindful breaths. It’s our way of leaving the outside world at the door — a grounding ritual that helps us arrive fully.

These moments of presence set the tone for the evening’s theme, whether we’re exploring wellbeing practices, creative skills or personal growth. Learning together in such an intentional space brings me so much joy and it’s at the heart of what our supper club is all about.

The Art of the Handmade

Creativity is woven through everything we do. Some evenings we explore new crafts that spark imagination; other times we roll up our sleeves for a sauerkraut workshop.

Learning the traditional art of fermentation wasn’t just about gut health — it was about reclaiming old skills, reconnecting with slow, seasonal living and bringing handmade traditions back to the modern table. There is something deeply grounding about making things with our hands.

Tapping into Energy and Design

Our gatherings also explore the inner landscape — the energetic, emotional and personal layers of wellbeing. We’ve welcomed guest sessions on EFT tapping, Human Design, Holistic Women’s Health and guidance from a PT coach.

These evenings offer practical tools for understanding ourselves more deeply and navigating life with more clarity. They remind us that growth is multidimensional — physical, emotional, spiritual and creative.

Spiritual and Ancestral Wisdom

Some of our most memorable sessions have introduced shamanic practices, crystal healing and ancestral wisdom. These teachings invite us to expand our awareness and reconnect with ancient ways of knowing.

Spiritual curiosity is celebrated here. When you open your eyes to the world of energy, intuition and ritual, you realise how much wisdom is waiting to be explored and woven into everyday life.

The Power of the Shared Story

And yet, the most powerful part of every supper club remains the stories shared around the table. There is a quiet strength in that vulnerability — in speaking aloud the things we’re learning, unlearning or returning to.

These moments remind us that it is never too late to begin something new or to rekindle something you once loved. When you open your eyes, there is so much to try, to learn and to rediscover.

What We’re Building Together

Our supper club is more than a monthly gathering — it’s a growing community of women who are curious, creative and ready to reconnect with themselves and each other. We are building a space where:

  • learning feels nourishing

  • creativity feels accessible

  • wellbeing feels holistic

  • and community feels like home

If you’re new here, this is your invitation to join us — to take your place at the table, breathe deeply, try something new and rediscover the parts of yourself that feel ready to grow.

A New Chapter at the Adelphi Tea Room

As our community continues to grow, we’re stepping into a new chapter — leaving the familiar comfort of our home and venturing out to the beautiful Adelphi Tea Room. Even in this new setting, I promise the heart of our gatherings will stay the same: one long table, cosy lighting, shared food, shared stories, shared laughter. The Adelphi gives us more room to breathe, move, create and spread our wings, and I can already feel the fun and spaciousness this new venue will bring.

We have an incredible season of supper clubs ahead, each one shaped by inspiring guest speakers and meaningful conversations. Coming up soon: Helen Hoyte (only three places left), our Designed to Be YOU Human Design workshop with Nette Hargreaves, Embrace Menopause, an Aromatherapy evening, a Shamanic/Holistic talk, a Bowen therapy introduction, and finally — before we break for summer — a joyful, open gathering where everyone is welcome to join us around the table.

You can book your place through our booking page, and — I can’t believe I nearly forgot to say this — we now have a website where you can sign up for updates, new dates and all the latest news. Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or you’re just discovering us now, it would be wonderful to see you, welcome you, and share this next chapter together.
